Is Perspex® Acrylic Sheet UV resistant?

Perspex® Acrylic Sheet offers a degree of UV resistance, but the answer isn’t as simple as “yes” or “no.”

• Standard Perspex® Acrylic Sheet blocks most harmful UV light up to a wavelength of 360nm. This covers the most energetic part of the UV spectrum—the range most likely to cause damage to people, plants, and materials.
• Perspex® VA Grade (UV Resistant) has been specifically engineered to block virtually all UV rays up to 370nm. This grade is ideal for applications where minimising UV exposure is critical, such as display cases, picture framing, and conservation work.
