Durable Polypropylene Copolymer sheet (PPC) with a leather grain finish, offering grip, wear resistance, and chemical durability.
Polypropylene Copolymer Leather Grain is a durable, lightweight material with a textured surface resembling leather. It offers excellent chemical resistance, high impact strength, and is ideal for automotive, industrial, and decorative applications.
Why use Polypropylene Copolymer Leather Grain?
This black PPC sheet offers all the benefits of standard polypropylene Copolymer with the added advantage of a textured surface for enhanced usability. It is highly resistant to wear, lightweight, and easily fabricated for industrial, commercial, and vehicle lining applications.
Key Features and Benefits
- Textured Leather Grain Finish: Provides enhanced grip, durability, and an appealing aesthetic.
- Excellent Impact Resistance: High durability ensures longevity in demanding applications.
- Chemical Resistance: Withstands exposure to chemicals, acids, and solvents.
- Lightweight and Weldable: Easy to handle, transport, and fabricate.
- Low Moisture Absorption: Maintains stability in humid or wet environments.
- UV Resistant: Black PPC offers enhanced UV stability for outdoor use.
Typical Applications
- Vehicle Linings: Ideal for lining commercial vehicles, trailers, and vans due to its lightweight and durable nature.
- Protective Cladding: Used for impact-resistant cladding in industrial and commercial settings.
Specific Gravity 0.91
With a low specific gravity of 0.91, this PPC sheet is easy to handle and ideal for weight-sensitive applications.
Manufacturing Process - Extrusion
Polypropylene Copolymer (PPC) leather-grain sheets are produced through an extrusion process, where molten polymer is forced through a flat die and embossed with a leather-grain texture while still warm. This process ensures consistent thickness, texture, and durability across the sheet.
This method ensures:
- Uniform thickness and density
- Enhanced mechanical strength
- Smooth, high quality surface
This process results in a lightweight, chemically resistant, and highly durable material, making PPC leather-grain an excellent choice for industrial, commercial, and engineering applications.
Cut to Size Bespoke Fabrication Services
Our cut to size service allows you to purchase PPC leather-grain sheets in the exact dimensions you need, without having to buy full, manufactured sheet sizes. We don’t charge for cutting standard shapes and sizes listed on our website.
For more customised projects, we also offer bespoke fabrication services, including:
- CNC Laser Cutting – For precise and intricate designs.
- CNC Routing – Ideal for complex shapes and large-scale projects.
- Engraving – Perfect for personalised or technical detailing.
- Additional options – Such as drilled holes, rounded corners, and edge polishing for a professional finish.
Sustainability and Recycling
PPC leather-grain sheets can only be recycled through specialised processes. However, its durability and extended lifespan reduce the need for frequent replacements, making it a more sustainable choice for long-term industrial applications

Where we deliver
We currently deliver to the United States and Canada.
How delivery is priced
Delivery is priced by the size and weight of your panel, based on the band your order falls into:
| Panel size (up to) | Weight (up to) | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| 500mm × 500mm | 10kg | $59 |
| 750mm × 750mm | 15kg | $79 |
| 1000mm × 1000mm | 25kg | $109 |
Orders that exceed the weight allowance for their band are charged $2.50 per additional kg.
Delivery times
Delivery is by air and takes 5–7 working days.
Customs, import taxes and duties
Our checkout meets US and Canadian customs and import requirements in full, so there are no surprises once your order ships. All orders are sent Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) — we collect and pay all import taxes and duties on your behalf, so your order arrives at your door with nothing more to pay.
Can I collect my order from Simply Plastics?
Yes, of course. Orders can be collected from our premises in Colchester, Essex. At the final stage of the checkout process there is a delivery option labelled "Collection/pickup" which is free. Once your order is complete, you will be notified by email along with our address and collection times.
I need my order urgently, can I pay for faster shipping?
Yes. We offer an express delivery service which aims to deliver all orders in 1-3 working days. Orders are delivered by a recognised courier company and may require a signature on delivery.
Do you have a minimum order charge or small order fee?
This is a question we are asked fairly regularly due to the previlance of either a minimum order charge or small order fee within the industry.
At Simply Plastics our approach has always been to treat all orders equally, small or large. We want all customers, new and existing, to be able to place orders with us confident that they are only paying for the products and materials that they require. We therefore do not have a minimum order charge or small order fee.
What is the difference between Polypropylene Copolymer and Polypropylene Homopolymer?
The main difference between Polypropylene Copolymer (PPC) and Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH) lies in their chemical structure. PPH is made from a single monomer (propylene), resulting in a stiffer, stronger, and more chemically resistant material with a higher melting point. Whereas, PPC is made from 2 or more monomers (propylene and another like ethylene), which leads to increased flexibility, impact resistance, and toughness, but with a lower melting point.
Is Polypropylene waterproof?
Yes, polypropylene is generally considered waterproof. Its tightly packed structure of its molecules causes water to slide off.
Is Polypropylene easy or difficult to bond?
Polypropylene is difficult to bond because it has a low surface energy. However, it can be bonded with special adhesives and methods, such as plastic welding.
